What makes a blasting system automated?

An automated abrasive blasting system controls the repeatable parts of the process instead of relying on an operator to manually position the nozzle and workpiece for every cycle. Depending on the application, automation can control nozzle motion, part rotation, indexing, conveyor movement, blast time, pressure, media flow, blow-off and recipe selection.

The right level of automation is application-specific. A simple indexed turntable can create a large productivity gain without the cost of a six-axis robot, while complex geometries may justify robotic nozzle or part manipulation.

Systems we integrate

Automated blast cabinets for compact parts and repeatable batch production.

Robotic blasting cells for complex geometry, recipe-driven production and frequent part changes.

Automated blast rooms for large parts, material handling and controlled operator-free cycles.

Turntables, conveyors, lifts, fixtures and indexing systems that move the part through the process.

PLC/HMI controls, recipe management, diagnostics, data collection and safety systems.

Designed for practical ROI

The goal is not to automate everything. It is to automate the steps that reduce labor, increase consistency or unlock throughput. We start with your current cycle, part mix, finish requirement and bottleneck, then select the simplest architecture that meets the production goal.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much of an abrasive blasting process can be automated?

Anything from part rotation and timed blasting to full robotic nozzle control, automatic loading, media recovery, recipes and production data collection can be automated.

Can an existing blast process be automated?

Often, yes. The existing cabinet or room, reclaim system, dust collector and blast hardware are evaluated first. Reuse is recommended when it is technically sound and produces a better business case.

Do automated systems require a robot?

No. Fixed nozzles, oscillators, turntables, indexers and conveyors are often lower-cost and easier to maintain when part geometry allows it.
